1983-1988 Develing International was founded in 1983. Thanks to the knowledge, experience and relations that founder Ronald Develing had already acquired in the People's Republic of China and other countries in Southeast Asia, the company quickly expanded its business activity in this region. A period of fast growth ensued. The raw materials and semi-manufactures markets within the food industry in China and Vietnam developed rapidly, as well as those for the paper industry and industrial products. Apart from that, the company also took on several activities for Akzo Nobel. 1988-1997 In 1988 Develing International became part of Akzo Nobel NV. Develing International laid the foundations for the expansion of Akzo Nobel's activities in China. The network grew to 7 offices with distribution centres in China, Vietnam and Hong Kong. Apart from the work for Akzo Nobel, Develing International also remained an active player on the raw materials and semi-manufactures market in the food industry, paper industry and industrial products industry. 1997 - today From 1997, after a management buy-out, which did not cause a breakdown of the relations with Akzo Nobel, we have developed into a global and independently operating organisation, aimed at sourcing, import, export and distribution of raw materials in the B2B segment. In the vein of our ancestors of the Dutch East India Company we champion entrepreneurship. The Dutch have a long tradition of pioneering. We have experienced the economical developments in Southeast Asia from up close in the last 35 years. Our roots are in Europe and China. We boast a solid purchase and sales organisation, which has grown thanks to our many years worth of experience in this immense market. The challenges we are now facing are finding products exactly according to the clients requirements, and the corresponding quality, and the offering of tailored services to our clients.
